Getting Started

What ages do you teach?

Vitaliy’s Swimming School accepts swimmers starting at age 4. Lesson placement depends on the swimmer’s current ability, confidence, and goals.

Are private lessons available for beginners?

Yes. Private lessons are one-on-one and are a good option for beginners, swimmers who need extra confidence, and athletes who want focused technical work.

Who are group lessons for?

Group lessons are intended for swimmers who already know how to swim and are ready to train in a group environment. Contact VSS if you are not sure which program is the best fit.

Lessons & Locations

Where are private lessons held?

Private one-on-one lessons are held in a private indoor pool in the Parkwood area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Where are group lessons held?

Group lessons are held at Newtown Athletic Club in Newtown, Pennsylvania.

How long is a private lesson?

A standard private lesson is 30 minutes. Group practice length varies by day; please see the current Schedule page for times.

Booking & Cancellations

How do I book a lesson?

Use the Call or Email options on the website to request a private or group lesson. VSS does not require parents to book through an online calendar.

What is the private lesson cancellation policy?

Private lessons may be canceled or rescheduled at least 6 hours before the scheduled start time.

What happens with a late cancellation or no-show?

No-shows and cancellations or rescheduling made less than 6 hours before a private lesson are charged the full lesson price.

Parents & Pool

Can parents watch private lessons?

Yes. Parents can wait in the viewing room and watch the lesson on TV.

Can parents take photos or video?

Yes. Parents may take photos or video of their swimmer during lessons.

Payment & Preparation

How can I find current lesson pricing?

Please call or email VSS for current lesson pricing and availability. Pricing is intentionally not listed on the public website so current information can be confirmed directly.

What payment methods are accepted?

VSS accepts Zelle, Venmo, cash, and check.

What should my swimmer bring?

Bring a swimsuit, towel, and goggles. A swim cap is recommended when appropriate. Please arrive ready to enter the pool at the scheduled lesson time.

Safety

What safety measures does VSS maintain?

VSS maintains liability insurance and coaches maintain applicable safety and professional certifications. Swimmers are supervised during instruction and lessons are matched to their ability level.
